Creative Direction for Exhibition Design -
The goal was to create a cohesive visual voice for a diverse artist collective, spanning traditional illustration and emerging new media practices. The visual identity needed to be flexible enough to represent a wide range of artistic approaches while remaining recognizable across exhibitions, posters, and digital channels.
-
The concept was built around the idea of opposites coexisting: analog and digital, traditional and experimental. Classic layout principles developed in InDesign were combined with generative and creative coding techniques to reflect the innovative and edgy spirit of the exhibitions. This approach allowed multiple visual expressions to live within a unified system.
-
The creative process began with pen-and-paper sketches, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative discussions. Early explorations were translated into mood boards and low-fidelity sketches to define direction and tone. As the system evolved, it became clear that contrast and hybridity were key drivers of the visual identity, guiding both design decisions and creative direction.
